SYROS ISLAND
Syros is an island with exceptional beauty in the Aegean Sea.
The name Syros derives from a Phoenician word, which means «happy», and happy is the feeling you get thanks to its clean and beautiful beaches, the special gastronomy, and the hospitable residents. Syros stands out from other islands thanks to its unique neoclassical architecture with medieval or Venetian characteristics, yet it also contains the classic style of whitewashed houses, chapels, and narrow winding paths like other Greek islands.
Syros is surrounded by the islands of Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, Naxos, and Paros to the east, by the islands of Sifnos, Serifos, Kythnos, and Kea to the west, and by the island of Gyaros to the north.

​Syros has generally a mild climate with little rainfall during the winter months while the sunshine of the island reaches approximately 3000 hours per year, one of the highest in the world.
